Halloween poem by Malek AYOUB

The spooky night

It's very spooky on Halloween night,

The ghosts and goblins will give you a fright.

Watch your back, do not be blind.
If you're not careful, who knows what you'll find?

You might see things like little black bats,
Or you might see things like scary black cats.

On every porch there's a pumpkin or two,
With their creepy grins smiling at you.

Here are 8 facts about Halloween:

1-Did you know that Ireland was the birthplace of Halloween?
2-Did you know that 90 percent of parents admit sneaking candies from their kids' bags?
3-Did you know that Halloween was originally called "Hallows' eve"?
4-Did you know that Dressing up in costumes was once a way to hide from ghosts?
5-Did you know that Jack o'lanterns were once made of turnips?
6-Did you know that a full moon on Halloween eve is something very rare and unique?
7-Did you know that Halloween is the second most commercial holiday of the year in America after Christmas?
8-Did you know that "Samhain", and old Celtic event, was inspired by the idea of Halloween?

Sursock museum by Malek AYOUB

Within the EPI project, school organized a trip on Thursday, October 20th  to visit the Sursock museum. There we assisted to the exposition called "Et si on parlait du temps". Lots of artists participated. This exhibition focuses on the problem of global warming and the importance of recycling in addition to endangered animals. My favorite work is waste. It is composed of four cubes made of different materials used and then recycled. The different materials are rubber tires, plastic bottles, aluminum cans and glass. These recycled materials have been compressed to reduce their volume. This shows that waste's volume can be reduced. That way, waste won't take a huge space on Earth.

Quotes:You can't separate peace from freedom because no one can be at peace unless he has his freedom.
You're not to be so blind with patriotism that you can't face reality. Wrong is wrong, no matter who does it or says it.
If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything.
